The funded project will allow to generate a biofabricated in vitro model of the human bone, faithfully reproducing its microarchitecture and cellular composition. The researchers will leverage the model to study how the modifications induced in bone microenvironment, due to physiological aging or chemotherapy regimens, can impact the formation of bone metastasis from prostate cancer. Thanks to this project it will be possible to better understand mechanisms driving the formation of bone metastasis, one of the deadliest consequences of prostate cancer. The project will be conducted in collaboration with prof. Alimonti at IOR.
