Postdoctoral fellows will widen and deepen their research skills by conducting indipendent research in agreement and under the mentorship of an experienced group leader and so contribute invaluably to the scientific excellence at the LRT. Postdoctoral fellows and visiting scientists are exposed to a wide range of topics and approaches ranging from basic and translational research to clinical research in different disciplines including neurosciences, cardiovascular medicine, orthopedics, gastroenterology, hepatology and nephrology. The fellows are expected to present rationale and results of their reseach at scientific meetings and in the form of manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications. The LRT supports postdoctoral fellow-driven application to competitive fundings (salary support, scholarships, grants). Postdoctoral fellows and visiting scientists are encouraged to share their knowledge with junior colleagues and will actively participate to practical and theoretical teaching. The primary objective of this effort is to ensure the necessary qualifications for independent positions in academia and industry.
